Challenges of medium-sized businesses, concerns of members
16.9.2024: Dr. Uwe Meyer in exchange with Prof. Dr. Andrew Ullmann, Member of the German Bundestag
On September 16, 2024, Dr. Uwe Meyer, outgoing second chairman of the TIV (Trailer Industry Association e. V.), had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the Bavarian member of the Bundestag Prof. Dr. Andrew Ullmann (FDP) in his parliamentary office in Würzburg.
The focus of the conversation was, on the one hand, the specific challenges faced by medium-sized companies in rural areas. Dr. Uwe Meyer emphasized the need for a stable economic environment, the reduction of bureaucratic hurdles and the assurance of acceptable energy prices in order to secure the future of these companies in the long term. On the other hand, Dr. Meyer called for support from Berlin in the negotiations on the new EU driving license directive and for the purpose of the introduction of a uniform technical inspection of trailers across the EU, which is advocated by the TIV.
The Trailer Industry Association, founded in 2015 and based in Berlin, represents the interests of the trailer industry and its suppliers vis-à-vis politicians, the administration and other associations, both at the federal and European level. The aim is to make the industry's concerns heard and to involve the TIV in legislative processes at an early stage.
